How long does an ADAS calibration take?

Most calibrations are completed in one to three hours. Multi-sensor jobs and vehicles that require both static and dynamic procedures can take a half-day. We will give you a realistic time estimate when you drop the vehicle off.

How do I know my car needs calibration?

Accepted Answer

Almost any disturbance to a sensor, the windshield, or vehicle geometry is a calibration trigger. That includes windshield replacement, collision repair (even minor), wheel alignment, suspension or steering work, tire-size changes, airbag deployment, and replacement of any ADAS-equipped bumper, mirror, grille, or sensor. Many miscalibrations do not throw a warning light, so the trigger event is what matters.

Do you work with insurance?

Yes. We invoice the standard collision platforms (CCC ONE, Mitchell, Audatex) and provide pre-scan and post-scan reports with photos and target placements for the carrier file. Calibration is a documented line item on most modern repair estimates.

Do you partner with body shops, glass shops, and dealerships?

Yes. We are a sublet partner for collision centers, auto-glass installers, mechanical shops, and dealerships across the Flathead Valley. Drop the vehicle, we handle the calibration and the documentation, and the customer is back on the road inside a day for most jobs.

My dash is not lit. Is the calibration really off?

Accepted Answer

Often, yes. ADAS calibration is a position problem, not a fault problem. A camera off by a single degree can misread the lane by several feet at highway speed and never trigger a code. The OEM position statements all require calibration after a triggering repair, regardless of whether a warning light appears.

Do I need OEM glass for the windshield camera?

OEM or OEM-equivalent glass with the correct camera bracket and optical clarity is strongly recommended. Aftermarket glass varies in optical distortion and frit pattern, and the wrong glass is a common reason a calibration will not complete or will drift out of spec quickly.

Can the calibration be done mobile?

Static calibrations require our level, lighting-controlled bay, so those are in-shop. Dynamic-only calibrations and select scan and programming work can be done on-site for partner shops. Call us with the vehicle and the job and we will tell you which one applies.

What documentation do I get?

Every job ships with a pre-scan report, a calibration completion report including target placements and measurements, and a post-scan verification. Reports are delivered electronically and are formatted for insurance carriers, body shops, and the customer.

Domestic, Asian, and European nameplates including Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM, Stellantis (Jeep, RAM, Chrysler, Dodge), Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, Mazda, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Porsche, and Tesla, plus light trucks and most fleet platforms. If a vehicle has a sensor, we have a procedure.
